MY TOP TENS…

 

FILMS

1)      Gladiator.  Russell Crowe in a short skirt!! Need I say more!?

2)      Withnail and I.  Cult film when I was at school about drinking and drugs with a smattering of  homosexuality and being “Act-oors”.

3)      Breakfast at Tiffany’s.  Ahhhhhhhh!  Just a lovely film with the gorgeous Audrey Hepburn.

4)      Roman Holiday.  Guess who is my heroine!?  Audrey in unrequited love, sad but a fab film!

5)      Bridget Jones’ Diary.  I can totally relate to this film as I am her!!!!

6)      Life of Brian.  Another cult film when I was at school, we watched it all the time after school and even knew the script off by heart, sad but true!!

7)      The Outsiders.  A very young Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze, Matt Dillon et al, about living on the wrong side of town.  Very broody and quite sad, but an excellent screen play.

8)      Dogma.  Very funny mick take of the Catholic church where God is a female and the voice of God is Alan Rickman.

9)      The Jungle Book.  Mowgli, Sheercan and vultures that are the Beatles, of course it is brilliant!!

10)  The Commitments. Dublin and a soul band, now that’s class!!  Extremely funny and watch out for The Corrs!

 

TUNES

1)      Babybird - You’re Gorgeous.  Reminds me of working in Ireland as it was on the radio all the time then.

2)      Deep Blue Something Breakfast at Tiffany’s.  Again a song from my time in Ireland and also it is about 1 of my favorite films.

3)      Danny Williams Moon River.  From Breakfast at Tiffany’s, makes me cry as it’s from the scene with the wet, abondoned cat.

4)      Gabrielle Out of Reach.  This song got me over a break up because of the words in it.

5)      Dusty Springfield Son of a Preacherman.  I don’t know whether it is her voice or the music, but I never get bored of listening to that song.

6)      Del Amitri Spit in the Rain.  Another song I never get bored off; it’s up beat and fun and of course it’s by one of my favorite bands.

7)      Peggy Lee Fever.  Just sooooooooooooooooooo great, her voice, her power, her va va voom, brilliant!!!

8)      Macy Gray I Try.  Brilliant song, brilliant sound, brilliant words!!!

9)      Stealers Wheel Stuck in the Middle with You.  Another song that just sounds so brilliant, not much more to say than that.

10)  Old Blind Dogs To the Beggin’ I will go.  A fab Scottish band with a excellent new lead singer, I saw them live and his voice was soooo eerie and went right through me, nice guys as well!!!

 

PEOPLE TO DINNER – LIVING OR DEAD

1)      Nostradamous.  Just to see if he could predict what I served!!

2)      Audrey Hepburn.  For that bit of class

3)      Terry Pratchett.  To ask him about his books and make me laugh.

4)      Alec Guiness.  Comedy and class combined.  He was such a good actor , I would like to get to know him.

5)      Chris Moyles.  Strange chioce but he has me in stiches from 3-5.30pm most days.

6)      Nigella Lawson. To cook the food and make her fab Bloody Mary’s!!!

7)      Syd James.  To talk to Chris Moyles on his level, very basic!

8)      Dawn French.  I think she is great, funny and beautiful, a dinner party cries out for her!!!

9)      Graham Norton.  He is sooooooooooooooo funny!!

10)  Tanya, my sister.  To share the experience with!

 

SEXY MEN

1)      Sean Bean.  Rough and rugged, Mmmmm…!

2)      Sean Connery.  Old style charm, and that accent!!

3)      Russell Crowe.  Gladiator-esque!!

4)      Harrison Ford.  My first crush was with Han Solo.

5)      John Hannah.  Scots accents do it everytime.

6)      Cary Grant.  Even older style charm, and he was funny too.

7)      George Clooney.  Can’t leave out the Americans.

8)      Robson Greene.  Bloke next door looks.

9)      Ewan McGregor.  Scottish and gorgeous!

10)  Gene Kelly.  In 1 particular film where he wore black and looked really fit.

 

BOOKS

1)      The Dark is Rising Series – Susan Cooper.  Excellent fantasy series with a nice mix of King Arthur and Merlin and “normal” kids!

2)      Good Omens Terry Pratchett and Neil Giaman.  Hilarious story about the acopolypse and getting it wrong!

3)      Bridget Jones’ DiaryHelen Feilding.  Same as the film but better.

4)      Edge of Reason - Helen Feilding.  The funny follow on from the 1st book.

5)      Bilgewater Jane Gardam.  Brilliant book I had to read at school about teenage angst in the 1930’s.

6)      A Long way from Verona - Jane Gardam.  Same author, different charachers, but just as brilliant.

7)      Anything else by Terry Pratchett.  He is so sarcastic but in a cool way of every day things.

8)      The Firm John Grisham.  Brilliant story not such a good writer though.

9)      The World According to Garp John Irving.  Now he tells a brilliant story and writes really well too!!!

10)  Mr Magnolia A childens book I can’t remember who by!  A sad tale of a man with only 1 shoe!!!
