Medical tests and investigations

• It is usually easy to diagnose a stroke.
• Often, doctors can tell just by examining you.
• Your symptoms may be typical of stroke.

But sometimes it's important to find out:

• whether you've definitely had a stroke.
• the type of stroke you've had.
• whereabouts in the brain the stroke has happened.

If this is the case you may need to have a number of tests and investigations.

None of them should cause you any pain.
